Manhattan, Fifth Avenue - If one is looking to own a nice, simple pied a terre (a weekend/vacation home in the city), one could do worse than the luxury of an apartment in The Plaza Hotel: location, amenities, service (maids, room service), et al). One pays handsomely for the privilege —a multiple of what a like-kind would cost in a ‘normal’ terrific building, which is certainly one downside for most of us (including me). I would never knock any one’s lust, but it is a little too showy for me. Yet it is a stunning building, the bones are tremendous (and I love these windows — yes, with Central Park views)
